Four year olds don't come any cuter than this guy.  Austin Bergman joined our photographers at George George Park to capture his adorable smile.  We love the park because of the mix of natural beauty, fountains, wrought iron fixtures and bricked settings. Kids love the park because there is an awesome playscape!  Austin was a trooper and gave us his best smiles.  We love the pic of him in front of the fountain.  Adorable and a moment to treasure for years to come.

Now is the time to give us a call, set up your session and Capture these special moments that you will cherish for a life time.  If you have questions, or need some help deciding on a location, give us a call.  We are always happy to set up a free consultation with you prior to your session to make it the best session ever!  Call today or book your appointmentonline.

Congrats to Courtney Farrell who is a Senior at L'Anse Creuse High School.  Capture A Moment goes on location to Belle Isle quite frequently and this is the beautiful setting that Courtney chose.

The island offers so much to metro Detroit.  Belle Isle is rich with history and natural beauty.  It is a Detroit Gem and became a park in 2014.  It spans 982 acres and is situated in the Detroit River between Detroit and Canada.  There are many educational and recreational opportunities when you visit.  It has fast become a favorite place for our seniors to shoot their photo sessions.  The Anna Scripps Conservatory is the oldest continually-running conservatory in the United States. The regal dome and wings are made of steel, aluminum and glass. The grounds includes the the fountain and gardens.  The James Scott Memorial Fountain is a favorite location of Capture A Moment.   We have captured many beautiful sunsets behind this majestic beauty. The Nature Center, Belle Isle Aquarium and Dossin Great Lakes Museum are also great fun.

Good luck with your senior year Courtney!

If you are a High School Senior or a parent of one, give us a call today to set up your Classic Senior Session or visit our online scheduling to set up your appointment at your convenience.  Appointments are booking quickly so don't delay!

We love family sessions at Capture A Moment Photography.  They don't come any sweeter than the Ahearn Family.  Tamy, James AND Jasmine all came in for family pictures plus some extra special pictures for Jasmine's 2nd Birthday.  We have taken pictures with Jasmine before which is why the family came back. We love happy clients!

Tamy initially wanted an outdoor location at the local park however opted to switch to the studio because it had rained the previous few days.  We were happy to accommodate.  We have a lot of greenery just outside of our studio and were lucky to capture some shots of the family outside prior to the studio session.  Jasmine is a doll and was so curious in the studio. She checked out the props and lighting plus a cute little bench from Just By Happenstance that we ended up using in the pictures.  THEN.....Jasmine fell in love with "the cat toy".  We regularly take out this toy because you can't help but laugh when someone is waving it.  It elicits the genuine smiles in our sessions.   Jasmine loved it and ran around the studio laughing.  Tamy brought along a gold "J" that she made for Jasmine before she was born.  Such a great, personalized way to make the pictures memorable.  We have 100+ backgrounds to choose from and were able to pair the gold "J" and a gold crown with a background of the same color. Perfection!

Now is the time to give us a call, set up your session and Capture special family moments that you will cherish for a life time.  If you have questions, or need some help deciding on a location, give us a call.  We are always happy to set up a free consultation with you prior to your session to make it the best session ever!  Call today or book your appointment online.

Jake is a Senior at L'Anse Creuse High School where he is a section leader in the Marching Band, a Build Captain for the Robotics Team and is pursuing Eagle Scout rank for Troop 472.  Busy guy!  He has his sights set on Mechanical Engineering when he is done in 2018.

Jake chose some really great locations in Downtown Detroit for his shoot.  At Capture A Moment, we are game for anything and love incorporating locations that have meaning.   Jake's Mom was just married in Detroit on Belle Isle and we were lucky to be chosen to take the wedding pictures!   Going back to this location was great fun plus we also tossed Joe Louis Arena and Eastern Market into the mix.  Senior pics at The Joe.  The back steps along the Detroit River are painted for the farewell season.  Jake's smile, sunglasses and a pic of Lord Stanley in the background - nothing cooler than that.

Jake personalized the shoot by making it casual.  You will notice the hoodie in his pics.  It happens to be a staple in his wardrobe so of course, it made sense to include it in his senior pictures.  Senior shots illustrate who you are.  Jake also featured his trumpet.  He has spent a lot of hours marching with his 200+ comrades in the band. We are happy to see his instrument in these photos.

If you are graduating this year or have a student graduating this year, it is now time to have Senior Pictures taken!  Call today at 586-646-8189 or feel free to book online.

Maurice chose New Baltimore for his senior shoot location. His laid back style and saxophone helped to personalize the photo shoot and make the pictures memorable for years to come.

Senior portraits are an important documentation of your child's life and their achievements.  These days, families want something more for these photographs and Capture A Moment is happy to accommodate.   Having a location that is aligned with "who" your child is is important.  Utilizing props is a great way to personalize the pictures and make them memorable.  These props can express your child's achievements and their interests during their high school years.  What they select as their wardrobe is also indicative of who your senior is. Capture A Moment Photography can help you with all of these decisions.

Now is the time to give us a call, set up your session and Capture these special moments that you will cherish for a life time.  If you have questions, or need some help deciding on a location, give us a call.  We are always happy to set up a free consultation with you prior to your session to make it the best session ever!  Call today or book your appointment online.  Don't delay, Senior spots are filling up quickly.

Abby and Justin reached out to us to capture their pending new arrival.  Maternity pictures are a great way to document your life and celebrate this upcoming moment so that your kids have something to look back on.  Capture A Moment met Abby and Justin at George George Park where we photographed Abby's cute little baby bump.

We aim to have Mom come in for pictures between 34 and 36 weeks of pregnancy however it is your preference. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. The decision is up to you!  Capture A Moment typically recommends maternity sessions in the Mini Session format.  This session is very affordable and takes 30 minutes of session time.  We are happy to do this in the studio or on location.  We provide you an online proofing gallery where you can take the time to pick 5 digital images of your choice.  Full proof sets are also available on DVD and USB.

We are lucky to be the professional photographers chosen to document Abby and Justin's little one. Having a child is the greatest thing you will ever do!  Good luck from Capture A Moment.  Now is the time to give us a call, set up your session and capture these special moments that you will cherish for a life time. Click here to book a session now.

The Najor Family is new to Capture A Moment Photography.  It was great to work in the studio with little Abigail who is 1, Dylan who is 6 and 8-year old Ashley.  According to Mom (Jackie), the two older kids just love their youngest sister to pieces and she keeps them on their toes!  Dylan is the middle child and the only boy. He can be  a bit like a tornado (as many boys are at that age!) but is so sweet. Ashley is the oldest; very helpful and kind!  We love that Mom wanted to capture the kids at this young age.  Photographs for the sentimental quality are one of the main reasons for doing professional family photography.  Having these pictures later on in life will be priceless.

Jackie's take-away after the studio session is an affirmation that we are achieving one of our main goals at Capture A Moment.  "Yes, this is our first time and we had a wonderful experience. No stress like at other photography places. We usually dread getting pictures done. You made it very easy!"  A studio session in a comfortable environment is one of the key factors as to why Capture A Moment came into existence.  Our founder's own experience with big box type of studios were the catalyst to start the photography studio.  Jen and Ang's vision of a studio with a comfortable, stress free environment is rare in the photo industry.  In fact, Capture A Moment is the ONLY brick & mortar studio that exists within the city of New Baltimore. Capture A Moment is happy to offer this boutique type of experience!

Welcome to the Capture A Moment family Najors.  We hope that you enjoy your new family photographic treasures.

Amanda Destross is a senior at L’Anse Creuse High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society.  When she graduates, she hopes to attend Macomb then move on to Spartan Green at Michigan State University.

Not sure whether “You Be You” is Amanda’s motto however it ought to be!  She wasn’t going for any certain look other than being herself, casual and fun.  After her photo session, we asked Amanda what advice she might have for others getting pictures.  Her advice, “Just go with the flow and don't stress about it too much. Make sure your outfits represent you and will also look good in pictures”.  She also had that same #youbeyou advice when it came to makeup.  “Wear the makeup that makes you feel comfortable. Don't go over the top if that's not you”.  Thanks for helping others out Amanda.

Capture A Moment has quite a few photography locations that we work with.  We recommended some to Amanda and she chose Belle Isle because of the number of places on the island to take pictures.  The Conservatory, Nature Center, Memorial Fountain and riverfront are a few examples of the different settings that are available.  More and more kids are starting to use Belle Isle for Senior pictures.  Seeing some example photos helped seal the deal for Amanda.

Thanks for choosing Belle Isle and Capture A Moment for your senior pictures Amanda. We know you are going to love them.

If you are a part of the Class of 2018 or a parent of a student that is graduating this year, don't hesitate to give us a call or visit our online scheduler to make your appointment.  We also offer a free consultation to help you decide your location and wardrobe changes.  Don't hesitate! "Fingers crossed Jen and Angela were able to pull off their magic again" was a parting comment from Bonnie who is the mother of little Conner.  Guess what Bonnie – WE DID!  Check out little Conner’s pictures from his TWO year old birthday photography session.  Time went by quickly since we last photographed him for his one year old special day.  Conner was a busy guy during the photo shoot and had fun checking everything out which is the norm for kids that age but at Capture a Moment, we have become pros at wrangling the little ones and making photo magic happen.

We love that Bonnie personalized the session with the cars and trucks that Conner loves at this age. Mom knows best and she has some great advice for choosing props for the little ones.  “Connor loves cars.  We selected items that he would find comfort in to help him be more at ease during the session. Pick items that have meaning for you so when you look back years later you can have fond memories of them even if those toys are no longer favorites”.

Now is the time to give us a call, set up your session and Capture these special moments that you will cherish for a lifetime.  If you have questions, or need some help deciding on a location, give us a call.  We are always happy to set up a free consultation with you prior to your session to make it the best session ever!  Call today or book your appointment online.  Don't delay, spots are filling up quickly.

The Robincheck Family is near and dear to our hearts at Capture A Moment Photography. There are a lot of memories with this family because we have been photographing them for just about 5 years. Janet and Joe are the parents of Jordan (5), Jacob (4), and Julie (1).

The family photo shoot took place at George George Park in Clinton Township. This park is well known to professional photographers because of the beautiful gardens, fountains, and expansive walking path thru this community park. It is a great location to take kids because there is so much to occupy them plus the park’s huge playscape can be loads of fun! We had a great day with weather in the 70s and sunny.  Perfect.

Photographing a family of 5 with little ones can induce a bit of anxiety!  It is one of the reasons why Capture A Moment is popular with families because we have 2 photographers at every shoot. Not only are we shooting dual cameras but we also help each other keep the kids focused and smiling throughout the experience. We asked Janet (Mom) what her best piece of advice was: “Try really hard not to get stressed out by all off it. The best part is that Capture a Moment offers a 90 minute session so you have plenty of time to try to get pictures of little kids”. So true Janet!

Taking professional family photos is so important.  Kids grow up fast, right? Captured moments of childhood become priceless as the years go by. We are happy to offer this service at Capture A Moment. Visit our online scheduling to set up your appointment at your convenience.

Lucas Mackewich graduates from Lake Shore High School this upcoming year.  When students set up their senior photo appointment, they need to decide on shoot location, outfits, what kind of overall look they are going for, etc.  Most kids choose accessories to use such as medals, their Letterman jacket, a football, an instrument they play, etc.  What did Lucas bring?  CARS.  In fact, he brought THREE of them and they looked pretty amazing.  Lucas was going for a casual and fun type of shoot.  His grandpa’s vehicles took it “out of the box” which is exactly what Lucas was going for.  Nice way to dress up the shoot Lucas!

Jordan Willershausen graduates from L’Anse Creuse High School this year and has her eyes set on college in 2018.  Jordan chose Marine City for her outdoor photography session and we were happy to join her there. Marine City sits on the St. Clair River and was known as the largest ship building community on the Great Lakes in the 1800s.  Present day, there are antique and gift shops, restaurants and lots to explore along the water such as kayaking, camping and freighter watching.  Jordan loves music, boating, snowmobiling and skiing so we can see how this city appeals to her and why she chose it.

Jordan brought along 4 outfits for her photo session which was an amount that ended up working really well for her.  It brought variety to the session.  She recommends going with a darker than normal look for makeup. Being able to customize your photo session is something that Capture A Moment loves because everyone is different.  Both of our photographers want you to feel comfortable and look your best so that you have little worries when its time to actually shoot the pictures.

Thanks for choosing Capture A Moment for your senior session Jordan.  Congrats to you!

Tucker McGuire is a senior at L’Anse Creuse High School and has his eyes on a bio-chemical engineering career for his future.  Tucker is a well-known, funny and a friendly guy.  He also likes to keep busy!  Tucker participates in the L’Anse Creuse Marching and Symphony Bands where he plays the mellophone.  He is also a member of the Link Crew and Winter Guard.  Guard is a sport that intertwines dance with equipment.  There is a lot of teamwork and dedication that goes into this athleticism through the arts competition.

For Tucker’s senior photo shoot, he chose George George Park because he has been there many times and is quite familiar with it.  Smart move because it helps put you at ease when you are familiar with the photography location. The park is gorgeous and there are always a lot of beautiful places to shoot. Tucker chose to highlight his participation in band and color guard during his session with the rifle and flag equipment used to compete.  He also brought along his Band Jacket with patches that showcases his achievements.  These are all great ideas to utilize for props.

Tucker was happy with his session and thought it went “Awesome”.  He felt that Jen and Ang were super nice and very open to ideas.  His advice to future seniors taking pictures is not to wait until the last minute.  We happen to agree!  Thanks for choosing Capture A Moment Photography Tucker!

Dr. Laura owns the successful chiropractic office, Synergy Wellness of Birmingham, and utilizes Capture A Moment for her professional needs.  When she came in to update her headshot portraits, she also brought along her most recent purchase.  This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is lovingly named  “Diana Prince”, the civilian identity of the Superhero Wonder Woman - how cool!  Cars run deep in the Capture A Moment family and shooting an SS complete with hood stripes was great fun.  We captured these images at dusk right off of County Line Road in New Baltimore.  Taking advantage of last light gave us a diffused look which added to the texture and depth of “Diana” in the overall photographs. Laura's dream car looked hot.  When we went back to the studio for the headshots, the car even had a fan who followed us back to get a closer look!

Whether personal or professional, Capture A Moment has the experience and capability.  In addition to family photography, we offer commercial photography for business use such as merchandising, advertising, brochures, etc.

Disney’s "Descendants" film was the inspiration behind Serena’s recent 9 year old birthday pictures.  This family is big into Disney and we love that about them!

The Capture A Moment Studio's extensive backdrop collection (over 100+ to choose from) came in handy for this photo shoot.  The castle backdrop was a perfect fit for the Disney theme and matched Serena’s purple & black dress a la Descendants.  For the birthday centered photos, we utilized a balloon backdrop which went nicely with Serena’s second outfit for the day.  Birthdays are extra special in this family because Serena and her mom share one.  In fact, this family is extra special to us because we have photographed them for years and know them well.

Thanks for letting us capture your 9th birthday Serena. The lasting relationships we have with clients are one of the reasons why we love our business!   #celebrateyourmoments with #captureamomentphoto

Joseph Gudenau is a Senior at the International Academy of Macomb and plays football for his home school, L'Anse Creuse High School.  Because of his love for football and lacrosse, we headed to the field for his Senior Pictures.  His letterman jacket and football made great props in the photos.

We like our clients to bring a variety of props and clothing options so that we have something to work with when customizing the shoot.  Joe made us laugh when we asked him about which outfits he chose. "I made sure to bring my suit and tie, cap and gown, a casual outfit, and football jersey.  I had to make sure the grandparents would get what they wanted."   Well Joe, September 10th is National Grandparent's Day.  Guess we know what present your grandparents are getting!

Thanks for thinking of Capture A Moment for your Senior Pictures, Joe.  Good luck at Grand Valley State where you will be majoring in Physical Therapy. They are lucky to have you!

George George Park is a popular location for high school students whether it be Homecoming, Prom, Graduation or Senior Pictures.  The park is located in Clinton Township and features walking paths, a picnic pavilion and fountain plaza located on 30 acres of land.  Anna Plotkowski from Chippewa Valley High School chose George George for her Senior Photos.  When you've been to a location many times and love its scenery, it helps add to the comfort level which was a key reason why Anna chose it.  "I loved how relaxed and fun my photo session experience was".

Anna went for a natural look during her session and highly recommends "being yourself".  She brought 4 outfits which she felt was just the right amount and accessorized them with her favorite shoes and simple earrings.  As you can see from some of the final pictures in this blog, this was the perfect look for Anna at George George Park

Anna stays really busy in school with Student Government, National Honor Society and Key Club. She also plays softball during the summer and fall.  Once she graduates, she is looking at a degree in Special Education.  We think this specialization fits you perfectly Anna.  The world needs more people like you in it.

We loved our session with you Anna.  Thanks for allowing us to #celebrateyourmoments! #captureamomentphoto #highschoolseniorphotos

Capture A Moment headed to the Anchor Bay Tennis Courts for Charlie Sind's senior pictures.  This guy is big into tennis and incorporating our client's interests into our photos is one of our favorite things to do!  This session was sweet because Jen has known Charlie for years and we also were lucky enough to shoot his older sister's senior pics a few years back at George George Park.

Anyone who is smitten with the mitten knows that Michigan weather can be an issue especially for photographers who love to shoot outdoors!  A lot of times you just have to chance it which is exactly what we did. It wasn't looking too good outside but we still headed to the courts where we literally watched the storms roll in.  Many times, a backdrop like this can result in some gorgeous shots.  We shot fast and made it out of there without getting drenched.  Fun times!

We took Charlie out of his tennis element and did some studio shots in our New Baltimore location.  A lot of times it can be tough to relax in this type of setting.  Sometimes, we find ourselves resorting to..........the cat toy. Yes, a cat toy we've got in the office is usually enough to coax a giggle and genuine smile out of just about anybody (including Charlie).  We've been doing this so long that we've got a lot of tricks up our sleeve to get people to relax. Thanks for manning the cat toy Mom and Ang.

We are happy to be the photographers chosen to photograph you and your sister Charlie.  Thanks!

Jimmy's love of percussion shines through in his Senior Photos.  Capture A Moment headed to his high school field to highlight his interest and participation in the L'Anse Creuse High School Marching Lancer and Wind Symphony Bands.  Jimmy is a key member of these groups and a master across percussion instruments including music composition.  We were thrilled to incorporate his love of music into his pics.

At LCHS, Jimmy also excels in the Math, Science and Technology Program.  This, along with his AP courses, will set him up for success when he heads off to college after his senior year.

If you are ready to have your senior session, give us a call or book your appointment online.  We pride ourselves on personalizing your session to celebrate the moments that bring meaning to your life.

Nolan Mullins is dropping-the-puck on his Senior Year at  L'Anse Creuse High School.  There isn't anyone more personable and easy going than him.  His smile and laughter has a way of instantly brightening a room.  You can't help but laugh when Nolan is around.

This laughter comes in handy during band practice for the LCHS Marching Lancers where Nolan plays the tenor drums in the battery section.  Although he has a passion for the drum line, Nolan has played the bassoon since the 6th grade and this is his instrument of choice when playing with the LCHS Wind Symphony.

Nolan is a hockey nut and has been playing since he was 8 years old.  At Capture A Moment, we love incorporating our client's interests within their photos because it makes them more personal and memorable.  Nolan brought along his hockey equipment and we were able to get some great shots.  What a nice way to remember his senior year playing for the L'Anse Creuse Unified team!

Knowing that Nolan wanted a casual setting for his pictures, we recommended Downtown New Baltimore as a shoot location.  The city's blend of coastal community along with natural elements was a perfect fit for Nolan who brought along three clothing changes which helped to add variety to his shoot. This city along the shores of Anchor Bay is also home to our Capture A Moment Photography studio where Nolan's yearbook photos were taken in more of a formal setting.

Nolan has his eye on Western Michigan or Grand Valley State after high school.  Both are great colleges for the Physician's Assistant career he is considering.  Wherever you end up Nolan, we know you will be a success.  Capture A Moment is honored to be the photographers chosen to capture your smile for your senior pictures.

If you are graduating this year or have a student graduating this year, it is now time to have Senior Pictures taken!  Call today at 586-646-8189 or feel free to book online.
