Testimonials
Thank you to Angela and Jen for making the drive and braving the cold for our engagement pics!
Andrea P.Jen and Angela were very friendly and professional! I look forward to seeing our family photos and hopefully booking them again!
Shannon H.They were awesome. Knew where to take pictures based on light etc. They were very personabIe was extremly pleased.
Nancy G.Wonderful, as always!
Lisa Y.This is the second time we have used them. They are WONDERFUL, we had such a great experience. They worked well with our kids, and knew when they needed a break and when the kidswere done. Angela and Jen were laid back and never made us feel rushed! It was another A+++ exprience.
Julie C.Angela and Jen are wonderful!! They spend the time necessary to get the great shots and they were wonderful with our 18 month old daughter. We love working with them and will do so again in the future.
Lori K.We couldn’t be happier with our engagement pics! You ladies do amazing work!!:)
Melissa M.On Saturday Jen and Angela photographed my daughter and her family, some fantastic shots in a peaceful location. Just from the sneak preview, I can tell I’m going to love every single photo. If you are looking for great photographers, give Capture A Moment in Photography a call.
Maureen D.Let me tell you how awesome you guys are…it took me 2 months to get an appointment with another photographer who then cancelled 3 times. Called you guys on Friday, got a session in on Saturday, proofs were up on Sunday, and received my CD with images that turned out just GREAT on Tuesday! Definitely recommending you and using you guys again!
Teresa A.Jen and Angela were patient to the extreme and I thought that after all that time of wrangling our two, that perhaps they had “captured a moment” we wouldn’t want to display on our walls. Boy, was I wrong and was happily surprised when the proofs came in and there was lovely picture after lovely picture of my children looking adorable and happy and joyful. They worked magic! I can say that we are excited to have found…

Hey Jude!
Hey Jude! We have been so blessed to become a small part to this beautiful family. Recently, we met with this handsome lil man and his beautiful mom and dad. We have been photographing his sweet cousin, Leo, since birth and now we get to see Jude. Jude has the happiest personality and the absolute LONGEST eyelashes EVER! He is hard to get a smile but he is always pleasant to spend time with and the smile is sooooooo worth the wait.
Take a second and enjoy his gorgeous face, we sure do! It is always amazing watching these little ones grow. The first year is absolutely amazing and so very fast. You may have remembered this little guy from the bunny sessions with his cousin. They are such handsome little men and one day they will be Amazing grown men. Take a minute and enjoy because this time will fly by so fast and before you know it, the baby year is gone.
Thanks for coming to see us Jude, we hope to see you again VERY soon! XOXO

Pinterest Thursday! Let there be LIGHT!!
I think this is my third Pinterest Thursday already and let’s just say LET THERE BE LIGHT!! Here is the image that inspired my Pinterest Thursday Post. It makes me sing a song in my head to the tune of I’m dreaming of a White Christmas, but with Sunny Thursday in place of White Christmas. Can you hear it? I can!
Yesterday was such a glorious and Sunny day and today it has been threatening storms all day. For all of us in MI, we should be used to this crazy weather. But C’mon already!! I am tired of shooting in the studio and I am ready for trees, leaves, grass, mud, water fountains, sun, warm wind. Sounds glorious, doesn’t it?!?! What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? Are you enjoying beautiful and sun-filled days or is it still cold and dark? Let me know, and if you are inspired by this post, go to our facebook page and post a picture of your most inspired light photos. I love light, particularly sunsets *hint, hint*!
The funny thing about light is that it can make our jobs soooooo much harder but it can make the results soooooo magnificent if handled properly. We have our own fair share of images that include the sun and I personally LOVE an amazing sunset. Seriously, that is definitely one way to just stare at the awww that is this life. That and Babies, but you all know how I feel about babies
I love the warmth that sun gives to everything. It can make vicious shadows and taking pictures of a bride in a white gown in full sun is the stuff a Photographers nightmares are made of! But, if done properly, the results can be stunning! If you are wondering what time of day is best to utilize the sun, go for sunrise and sunset. It gives you a gorgeous glow and warmth that hugs everything around it. Mid day sun is the harshest and gives off shadows under your eyebrows, making you look like you have raccoon eyes.
Take a minute and surf through Pinterest, you would be amazed at the inspiration that is around you. Check out our Pinterest board Light Inspiration, be sure to Follow us and see a little bit more of what inspires us! If you are anxious to have your pictures taken in the sunlight, be sure to set up your appointment with us NOW! Those appointments book quickly and the warm weather only lasts so long! Happy Thursday!

Time flies!
Time flies! It is never so apparent then when we are visited by our ever growing little clients. We have had the pleasure of photographing this adorable and spunky little girl since her mom was pregnant with her and have watched her grow. Who would have ever guessed, when we were still guessing if she was going to be a girl or a boy, that this beautiful child would emerge! She is a pleasure to work with and a pleasure to watch grow. Of course we LOVE the tutu’s! Happy 2nd Birthday Brielle! It is amazing how fast time flies by!!

2013 Michigan Heart Gallery Debut
It has always been part of our mission at Capture a Moment Photography to give back. As mothers, Angela and I, we were especially proud to be asked to participate in the Michigan Heart Gallery as volunteer professional photographers.
For those of you unfamiliar, The Michigan Heart Gallery is a photographic exhibit created with the sole purpose to find forever families for Michigan children in foster care. The gallery exhibit specifically features those who have had parental rights terminated and are looking for forever loving adoptive homes. The exhibit is hosted at different venus throughout the state of Michigan and the photographs are taken by volunteer professional photographers.
I had the pleasure of photographing several of these children and each session was such a joy. Angela and I will be at the debut of the 2013 Michigan Heart Gallery Exhibit on Saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jamison Temple Baptist Church in Detroit. There will be presentations from multiple guest speakers and some of Michigan’s waiting youth.
To learn more visit www.mare.org or call 800-589-MARE.

Sweet Baby Boy!
This past fall, we were blessed with an opportunity to photograph a newborn baby, one of our favorite types of subjects! This beautiful family happened to live right around the corner from us. This was definitely a case of “it’s a small world”. We had originally planned to meet them at George George Park but the ground was soaking wet and part of the shoot was to photograph a two-week old baby boy. We then decided to simply meet them at their home and it turns out they were neighbors! What a small world indeed! We enjoyed our time with two-week old baby Cam and his big sister Leah. We were surprised at how willing Baby Cam was to simply sleep through the shoot. And of course big sister Leah was always ready with precious kisses for her new brother. We loved our time with this beautiful family and made new friends and neighbors in the process! Thank you Bryant family for inviting us to your home!

Mr. Lucas!
We love photographing this little man! He is so much fun with such a sweet personality. The camera just loves him. This session took place right in Downtown Mt. Clemens. It’s not an obvious location choice, but it’s full of possibilities and great textures. It’s amazing what you find when you just wander around! Thank you Lucas for a great session!!
