Congrats to Evan who is graduating from Anchor Bay High School this year.  We stayed local with Evan's photo shoot and shot at our studio and surrounding areas plus downtown New Baltimore.  Evan is a member of the Tars basketball team.  We incorporated Anchor Bay into his shoot with the signature anchor that sits out front of the school.  Evan also chose to wear his uniform for a few of the pictures.  Incorporating what is meaningful in Evan's life at the time of his senior photos makes them memorable forever.

If you are a part of the Class of 2018 or a parent of a student that is graduating this year, don't hesitate to give us a call or visit our online scheduler to make your appointment.  We also offer a free consultation to help you decide your location and wardrobe changes.  Your senior will be graduating soon  Call today.

Kurt and Kara Krause have two beautiful daughters named Audra and Alaina.  They have come to the studio for Valentine's Day and Christmas mini-shoots in the past.  This time, updated Christmas photos were the reason for their visit!  Kara was hoping for something that had a touch of the holiday but not over the top.  We have quite a few holiday sets to choose from and were happy to work with her on this.  When clients come to the studio, we collaborate on suggested backdrops and settings.  We love receiving input on the "looks" and are happy to accommodate their thoughts.  The purple dresses that Audra and Alaina wore are a nice contrast with the red Christmas backdrop and the straw from the tree farm holiday set.  We love how their pictures turned out!

If you are in need of family photos, please give us a call.  Our goal is to customize every shoot so that it meets your needs and is memorable.  Don't hesitate to give us a call or visit our  online scheduler to make an appointment.

This handsome guy is a favorite of ours.  We have been photographing Chase since he was a little one.  When Chase was first born, good friends purchased a gift certificate from Capture A Moment for the Saad Family.  This newborn session kicked off a great relationship with this family and we love when they bring their little guy into the studio for pictures.

Capture A Moment Photography is happy to offer Gift Certificates for birthdays, celebrations and more.  Sometimes its hard to think of fun, unique gift ideas.  Gifting a photography session is something that is the perfect idea for everyone AND its definitely something that works for the people who seem to have everything.  With the holidays approaching, give us a call or email us if you'd like to purchase one.  We are happy to help!

Great seeing you Chase.  We hope Santa brings lots of presents!

Luke was one of the first clients we had this year for a Christmas session.  The red background and Christmas tree setting turned out to be a great look.  Sometimes when you put a set together, it might not come off on camera the same way that it looks to the naked eye.  We typically take test shots to ensure that it all works together.  Overall, we really like the red festive setting and it worked well with the outfit Luke had.

We just did a new backdrop order and will need to start playing with sets to see what props, rugs and backgrounds work best together.  Seriously, its like Christmas day when you get something new to work with in the studio.  Luckily, we are always swapping out backdrops to that we have fresh looks to work with (100+ always in the studio).  The same thing with props.  We have two full rooms with everything you need from newborns to full family sessions.  Trust us, we've got it so do not feel ill-prepared when on your way to a photo session at our studio.

Like Luke, if you are in need of updated holiday or family photos, please give us a call.  Our goal is to customize every shoot so that it meets your needs and is memorable.  This, along with the relationship we have with our clients, is how we differentiate ourselves from the big-box studio competitors. Don't hesitate to give us a call or visit our online scheduler to make an appointment.

It was a chilly day out at George George Park but you'd never know it by looking at the Gavel Family photos.  The warmth of their smiles and family bond shine through.  Sometimes we can't control the weather when it starts to get late in the season but the beauty of family pictures outdoors together is worth a few moments in the chill.  We love to shoot with a natural light source at Capture A Moment.  Although being in-studio allows us to have complete control over the setting, shooting outdoors adds a certain aliveness to the photos that we love.  It certainly can be unpredictable but we've been shooting outdoors for years and years so we have fully adapted to changes on the fly whether it be weather, wildlife or lighting.

Thanks for choosing us Gavel Family.  We hope that you treasure these photos for years to come.

So happy to have Aili and Connor visit us with their mom for updated Christmas photos.  We have been a part of their lives since they were little and we've grown so close to them that they almost feel like family.  Aili and Connor are both energetic and uber friendly.  It was a treat to see the family right before the holidays.  Christmas and more importantly, Santa, will be here fast!

We are currently scheduling holiday minis and have quite a few backgrounds to choose from.  If you haven't booked a session yet, give us a call at 586-646-8189.  These sessions are fast & easy which is a big help during holiday crunch time.  The pictures make great holiday cards and presents for family.

The Filllar Famiy chose their own private property as the location to take family photos.  It took place on one of the warm and sunny October days we had this year which made the session really nice and enjoyable.  Mom and Dad were joined by Caprii (7) and Gia (5).  These siblings had a ball playing in the leaves and walking us around the property.  This was our first session with the family and we really enjoyed the time with them.  We got creative with the girls and used the fall leaves to our advantage plus did some really nice sister poses that will be treasures later on when they are older.

Thank you for sharing your home with us and for giving us the honor of capturing some really happy time with you.  Thanks for allowing us to #celebrateyourmoments

The Bernhardt Family have been our clients for years.  They've participated in our big Reindeer Day in the past and we love that they called us for a family session at George George Park. Little Michael is a super sweet boy who is happy and energetic.  He is also about to be a new big brother!  It was nice to capture this within our photo session.  In between pictures, Michael loved his piggy-back rides from Ang as we walked the park to the different locations.  The Bernhardt's went with a 30 minute session which was the perfect amount of time to capture the family in this setting.

Now is the time to give us a call, set up your session and Capture these special moments that you will cherish for a life time.  If you have questions, or need some help deciding on a location, give us a call.  We are always happy to set up a free consultation with you prior to your session to make it the best session ever!  Call today or book your appointment online.

These are a great representation of your style and who you are.  We know that you will do well in your future endeavors Nicholas.  Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your senior year.

Jack is in his senior year atL'Anse Creuse High School where he participates in the MST curriculum, Honor Society, Tri-M and music.  He has his eye on an Engineering degree after graduation.  Jack has been playing the saxophone since he was in 5th grade at Mt. Clemens Montessori Academy.  He started taking lessons in middle school and now plays in the LCHS Marching Band, Wind Symphony and Jazz Band.  He also plays in a number of sax groups that compete at Solo & Ensemble including the Creuse Quartet that volunteers at events locally.  Last year, the quartet played at a Belle Isle wedding that Capture A Moment was the wedding photographer for.  Great night!

We've known Jack for years and offered up many senior picture location options such as Belle Isle or Eastern Market however he really wanted something in a natural setting plus he wanted the location to have meaning.  The Metro Beach Tot Lot and Squirt Zone have now turned into kayaking at the Lake St. Clair Metropark.. Rollerblading at George George Park has now turned into prom pictures with his friends.  Choosing a location with meaning is a great way to add an additional layer of memories to your senior pictures.

Jack was rained out on his first session but Jen & Ang quickly rescheduled him.  We met after-school on picture day and headed to George George so that we could save the sunset for Metro.  Jen and Ang know so many different places at GGP that are hidden gems within the park and unknown to the public who walk the beautiful walkways and throw pennies in the fountains.  We took photos of Jack and his saxophone along the bridge where he rollerbladed when he was little (his mom may have had a tear or two).  After GGP, we left for Metro where jack takes his truck to fish and kayak so we incorporated his Chevy into some of the shots.  We did a few sunset and water shots then headed out to New Baltimore to take his senior photo at the studio. Jen captured some shots of Jack by the wetlands with his truck, saxophone and karate black-belt.   That one picture will forever capture who Jack is/was in high school.

Thanks for choosing us to take your senior photos Jack.  We have known your family for years which makes the pictures extra special to us and your mom.  If you are graduating this year or have a student graduating this year, it is now time to have Senior Pictures taken!  Call today at 586-646-8189 or feel free to  book online.

Mckayla is in her senior year at Henry Ford II High School.  It was great getting to know her while taking her senior photos.

We decided upon New Baltimore for the photo session and took full advantage of so many different locations.  We started off in our studio where we took her yearbook photos.  We then headed out to a rustic barn setting where we had a couple of laughs over the tall grass and what might actually be lurking in there!  Good times.  On the way back to the studio, Mckayla spotted an old willow tree that she liked.  We always like to accommodate what our clients are interested in so it was no problem to snap a couple of pictures. After a clothing change, we headed out to the downtown area where we shot among the buildings.  The bricked exteriors were a nice contrast to the wetland photos we took earlier in the day.  From there, we walked down to the waterfront where seagulls made for a living backdrop and the sky was a sunset filled with puffy white clouds.  We shoot the waterfront quite often and this scene was really one to behold.   We wrapped the night just marveling at setting.

It was an honor to take your pictures Mckayla.  We know you will go far in life.  You are kind, giving and determined.  We hope that your senior year and beyond is everything that you want it to be.

The Wolfe Family newborn session was incredibly sweet.  We love to personalize sessions so that they are custom for your family and will bring back memories for years to come.  Dad is a Detroit firefighter and we incorporated his helmet within the photo shoot. Seeing sweet Abigail nestled in a pink blanket within the very equipment that keeps her Dad safe was really special.  In addition to Abigail's photos, we also took pictures of her parents.  The pride and joy in their faces as they looked down at little Abigail is immeasurable.

There is only a short window of time to capture the newborn moment of little fingers, tiny toes, wrinkled backs and sleepy faces.  Babies are going through a great transition and change by the day at this age.  Newborn sessions are best done when babies are 14 days old and younger.  Ideally, we recommend a Day 5 to Day 10 window of time to photograph.  During this time, babies tend to be sleepier, still have their fresh newborn hair and easily curl up into position.

Our newborn session takes place within our cozy studio located just outside of the downtown New Baltimore area (easily accessible from I-94).  The studio setting ensures that we have direct access to perfect lighting and camera equipment needs.  In the studio, we also house 100+ backdrops that you can choose from  in addition to an ever expanding selection of newborn photography props such as baskets, blankets and wraps.  We have everything you need within our studio so do not worry  (we are moms too and know how it can be with a new little one!).  We keep the studio at 80 degrees to ensure that your newborn is warm and comfortable.  At the studio, you will also have access to a changing area with a bathroom, sink and changing table to ensure that the session is as easy and carefree as possible.  Our goal is a relaxed, pressure-free environment where you and your family feel as comfortable as possible.

It was an honor to photograph Abigail's session.  If you have an upcoming baby due, please consider capturing this special time in your life.  Give us a call to talk about a session or click here to book your appointment online.  We pride ourselves on personalizing your session to celebrate the moments that bring meaning to your life.

We do both location and indoor photo shoots at Capture A Moment.  Asia and Matt chose to utilize the studio because they wanted their session to be all about family.  Everyone interacting and being together is what they wanted to capture.  We did Asia's maternity photos plus some other family photos in the past.  We are happy that you came back to us for this family session.

Their kids are Autumn (11), Carter (2) and Matti (8 mo).  We worked on a few different settings for the individual family members plus took some shots of the entire family together.  Matti was adorable.  We took quite a few photos with this little one alone then paired her with Carter as well as Autumn reading to the two of them.  We also did photos of the entire famiy and a few other individual pairings.  Asia did a great job styling the outfits.  She went black and white because she felt it would be "neat and sophisticated".   Everyone in white really helped to bring a cohesiveness to the session.

Emily is a senior at Anchor Bay High School.  Congrats on your senior year Emily!  Emily is the Drum Major of The Marching Tars which is the marching band for the high school.  Marching band is something that takes total dedication and is an incredible amount of effort.  Being Drum Major of such an elite group is quite an accomplishment.  The Marching Tars march at the home football games, local parades, events and the District 16 MSBOA Marching Band Festival.  "The Pride of Anchor Bay High School" earned a 1st Division rating at Festival this year.  Awesome!

We are big fans of marching band at Capture A Moment Photography.  We know it takes an incredible amount of work.  Congrats on the Drum Major position as well as your senior year. Thanks for choosing Capture A Moment Emily.  We are honored to have been chosen.

A big congrats to Marcella on her senior year at Utica High School.  We love the warm colors that you chose for your photo shoot as well as the outdoorsy location that we recommended.  It is one of our favorites!

Senior photography celebrates the past while being on the cusp of a bright future ahead.  This unique timeframe happens once in life.  Via your senior’s own personal look, props that will evoke memories of current interests and locations that help tell the story, professional photography allows you to capture who your senior is, right now.    This is such an important time to capture.  We are so glad that you chose us for your senior photography Marcella.

Haley Provost is a senior at L'Anse Creuse High School.  She participates in the Early College Program at Macomb. After high school graduation, she plans to finish up the MCC program then transfer to finish either U of M or Wayne State to pursue Pre-Med.

Haley desired a natural, outdoorsy setting for her pictures and we were able to recommend a few options which she took advantage of.  She wanted this type of feel because she is the most comfortable being outdoors.  It's no wonder that her favorite extracurricular activities are outside. Haley's passion throughout the years has definitely been soccer. She began playing AYSO at the age of 6 and then moved to a couple different club travel teams. She has been playing with FC Union for the past 5 years and has developed some amazing friendships over the years with her teammates. We also go camping for several weeks each year and that is the reason Haley wanted her pictures taken in a more 'natural' setting.

Haley isn't the type that is super comfortable around a camera. We hear this a lot but Jen and Ang are great at working with everyone.  She felt very comfortable with our duo behind the lens.  Haley's advice to others having their photos done is to try and relax and be  yourself so that you are as natural as possible.  This extended to her attire as well.  She kept it simple with the jewelry and utilized 3 outfits.

If you are ready to have your senior session, give us a call or book your  appointment online.  We pride ourselves on personalizing your session to celebrate the moments that bring meaning to your life.

Charlotte turned 1 and we are so happy that her family chose to come back and celebrate it with us.  Charlotte is the cutest thing ever.  And, she is so incredibly stoic which makes us giggle.  As her mom will attest, this gal is a tough one to make smile (even at home) but we got a little one out of her during our session.  Getting kids to smile is something that isn't always easy.  Even adults and our seniors have a hard time.  Of our two photographers, Ang is usually the one who has to reach into her bag of tricks to make our clients laugh.  She has perfected the Elmo Song,  can fake a pretty good very high-pitched sneeze and has a trusted cat toy that you can't help but laugh when it gets taken out. We do whatever it takes to get it done.

We love you little Charlotte.  God bless and congratulations on your 1st birthday.  Thanks for allowing us to celebrate your moments.

Little Havana is the center of this beautiful family.  It shines through in her photos.  Her Mom's main goal in booking a photo session was to capture memories with her daughter, the grandparents and herself.  We met them at George George Park where many people head to take photos.  The park has an abundance of beautiful settings with water, ducks, fountains and greenery.  In addition to this, they timed their session to hit the Fall colors.  It was the first time that we've worked with Havana's family and we really enjoyed it.  Mom commented on our knowing the location well - we certainly do!  We know every inch of George George, including some secret locations that only we are aware of.

Don and Melissa are college sweethearts (Go Blue!) who married seven years ago but have been together for twenty!  Wow - congrats!  Their sweet daughter is Berkley who loves to read everything with words or letters on it and is anxiously awaiting the debut of her new brother or sister after Thanksgiving.  This combination maternity/family session took place on a gorgeous day at George George Park.  It was a crisp 45 degrees however the sun was out and warmed us up.  We love the company of the Wolford family.  They have always felt very at ease in our sessions (repeat clients!) and we love catching up with them and documenting  their lives.

Melissa chose Berkley's outfit from Babies R Us and then Mom & Dad matched their clothes to what Berkley wore.  Melissa was a bit nervous given she was pregnant with a lot to juggle at the time.  Melissa said, "I took a deep breath and tried to trust that our family was beautiful and perfect the way we were every day and that Jen and Ang would capture that.  Relax, and don't worry about perfection...Jen and Ang are total pros, and they will capture the best parts of your family, regardless of how well you prepare.".  It warms our heart to know that you placed your trust in us.  We are so happy to have photographed your family.  The joy on Berkley's face tells a beautiful story.
